Sankofa Faré Institute is based in Indianapolis, Indiana and was founded by Sister Njideka Karmo and Brother Varnie Karmo in 2011.  Their primary goal was to provide a means for the Black community to obtain and develop quality African dance and drum skill in order to present in-depth cultural information via research and master instructor tutelage.  The institute consists of Sankofa Faré Community Dance Drum Classes and Sankofa Faré Childrens Dance and Drum Ensemble.

African Dance-Workout
Children's Community Dance Class

The Children's African Dance Classes are created for the children of our community, ages 5 to 15, to learn traditional African dance movement, connect with rhythm, learn traditional songs, and understand related African culture. This is a multi-sensory experience for "kids of color" to discover their own natural talents while appreciating and connecting with those from the Motherland.
